John Eynon RIP

John Eynon, a founding member of the UK BIM Alliance (UKBIMA) and senior design manager at McLaren Construction, has died. He passed away on 16 June after a brief battle with lung cancer. The UKBIMA said: “John worked in design and construction for more than 40 years and worked on many iconic projects, such as a £3bn refurbishment framework of the Ministry of Defence as well as being a published author [The Design Manager’s Handbook in 2013 and The Construction Manager’s BIM Handbook in 2016 - ed.], lecturer and speaker.  “He was a valued part of the team that founded the UK BIM Alliance back in 2016 and prior to that John worked on building the BIM Regions across the UK. He was always such an enthusiastic person about the industry, offering support and sharing his opinions, often controversial but always available to talk and share his thoughts. Outside of work, John was fond of hats, trilby hats and was often seen wearing them in a variety of colours. He will be missed.” A service will take place at Downs Crematorium on Wednesday 7 July at 2pm. Those wishing to attend should contact Pam Bhandal at UKBIMA.
